There are several possible third group of messengers there, which will allow you to use your Yahoo ID and password, Trillian, Indiatimes Messenger are a few to name a few. You can download and install a lot of messengers from www.download.com and use a single ID Yahoo Messenger in one so that you can have N number of ID on the site, where N is the number after you install on your system.
I used Trillian a lot, and it has a feature it can enter into Yahoo, MSN, ICQ Network Not only that, you can enter in multiple Yahoo accounts from one 4 Yahoo messenger account, 2 MSN accounts and 2 ICQ No problem ., but the only question I have found the free version of Trillian was when you enter 2 Yahoo accounts, it will be automatically sent to friends Add to invite all people in the other Yahoo account. So Account 1 will send invites to all the ID in the 2 accounts and accounts 2 sends invites to all the identifiers in Account1. So if you want to play with somebody 2-ID, will be careful. I noticed this when I have it about 3 years ago, and I think that now, perhaps, Trillian fixed this issue
